Take Action
Overview
It’s time the patients voice is heard. Decisions are taken by stakeholders that will undoubtedly affect cancer patients without their input. The only way to change this is through action.
And action means being informed and talking about issue.
As a patient the old premise applies – if it seems wrong or unfair it usually is.
So if your gut tells you this ASK a question.
Advocacy is speaking out on issues of concern.
This can mean be as simple as telling your colleague about something that might affect him; something as personal as demanding a particular treatment; or something challenging such as trying to change the way cancer care is provided
The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa (Act No 108 of 1996) states that each South African has the right of access to health care services. In light of this a
PATIENTS' RIGHTS CHARTER has been develop.
