The Organization

Advisory Boards

The Board of Directors and Executive Management of Campaigning for Cancer will be aided by a invited, voluntary Healthcare Professionals and Subject Matter Expert Advisory Board.

While the Board of Directors will be responsible for the strategic, financial and governance focus of the organisations, issues that may arise from time to time outside the scope of the board’s knowledge will be referred for comment to these advisory boards for comment and advisement.

Linda Greeff
Social Worker
HR manager and Head of oncology social worker GVI oncology in Cape Town

Linda is also Founder member of the new formed NGO: People Living With Cancer based in Cape Town with branches in PE and in Nelspruit ; www.plwc.org.za a cancer survivor orginisation providing cancer Buddy services to newly diagnosed cancer patients .

Linda is a Ovarian Cancer survivor for the last 23 years and has a passion for the development of supportive psychosocial services for cancer survivors and their families .

Linda Greeff has attended and presented various papers as national and international conferences in this field and has been instrumental in the establishing of the annual national cancer survivors days on the health calendar of South Africa.

Elsabe Klinck
Lawyer
Elsabe Klinck has the degrees B.Juris, LLB, an Honours Degree in German and a degree in Applied Psychology. She has worked in the fields of human rights and constitutional law since 1994, and on its particular manifestation in the healthcare sector, since working for the SA Medical Association. She currently owns a healthcare consulting business, specialising in health law, healthcare funding and health policy.

Dr Tienie Stander
Healthcare Economist
Tienie graduated from the University of Stellenbosch and obtained an M.B., Ch.B. in 1981. He practiced as a GP until 1997 after which he joined JCI Ltd for three years as hospital manager and later also as medical schemes manager of the group.

In 2000 he obtained an MBA at the University of Potchefstroom (North West University).

In 2001 he formed a healthcare risk management company, Tri-Health. The latter company subsequently merged with two companies to form The Health Monitor Company. He started Health Econometrix (Pty) Ltd in 2006 and was appointed as the first CEO of the company. In 2007 he successfully transformed the company to a black empowered company (Health Econometrix & Outcomes Research (Pty) Ltd (heXor)) through the sale of 40% of shares to Holisizwe Medical (Pty) Ltd.

Tienie is an honorary professor at North West University, school of pharmacy and an external moderator of the School of Pharmacy of North West University. In this role he is lecturing, assisting and advising in research projects related to pharmacoeconomics to PhD and Masters students. He is currently chairman of the steering committee for ISPOR South Africa and is a member of ISPOR

Tienie has consulted to many blue chip listed companies in South Africa on healthcare strategy and economics as well as many multinational pharmaceutical companies. He also has extensive experience in international consulting, amongst others the Minister of Health of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the insurance and healthcare industry in Mauritius.

He has published and presented several scientific papers oh health economic topics with specific focus on the South African environment.
